“Thorough : (thuhr-oh) executed without negligence…perfect; thorough enjoyment…extremely attentive to accuracy and detail; having full command or mastery of an art: a thorough actress… Yes…my musings through the dictionary hit the nail pretty much on the head.  St Agnes’ Musical Society’s production of Thoroughly Modern Millie could well be described as having been thoroughly enjoyable with attention to detail.”

“I’ve no doubts whatsoever that Dolly Parton herself would have marvelled at the standard of entertainment provided by St. Agnes’ Choral Society with their beautiful production of 9 to 5. Thank you for a night of wonderful music, stunning visuals, and top class performances.”

“Me and My Girl is a wonderful vehicle for a large scale musical society, offering excellent leading roles, an abundance of supporting roles, lots of choral work and plenty of fun for a dance troupe. The humour of the show works as well today as it did back in the day, and the musical score is a classic. Little wonder then that St Agnes’ Choral Society found it the appropriate choice for the celebration of their 60th Anniversary production………….delivery of “Lambert Walk” was infused with fun and energy, but it was the opening of the show, and “An English Gentleman”, “Men of Hareford” and “The Sun Has Got His Hat On” where the vocals were most delightful. This was excellent choral work, at the heart of a wonderfully musically secure presentation….St.Agnes’ celebrated in style with this production.”

“Come along and listen to the lullaby of Broadway”. That’s exactly what we got from St. Agnes’ Choral Society. A pure unadulterated showbiz dream that would not look out of place on The Great White Way itself. The costumes were glorious. There were stunning set pieces. And the dancing was unbelievable. When I go to the theatre, I want to feel something; happiness, sadness, pity, fear, shock or awe. How did I feel at this production of 42nd Street? Drop your jaw. Take a sharp intake of breath through your mouth. And stay like that for as long as you can. That’s how I felt watching the choral numbers in this show.”

“St Agnes’ Choral Society put on the best show with some outstanding performances and amazing choreography and vocals. They blew me away and made me want to get up on stage and dance along with them. Actually can we have a musical theatre experience somewhere where the audience can participate on stage? Because I’m there, Jazz hands at the ready. That’s the affect 42nd Street had on me. Loved it! In 42nd Street, St Agnes’ have treated us to the highest standard of production. It doesn’t even feel right to describe them as an amateur theatre company because the cast and the set are fantastic, and better than some professional productions I’ve seen.”

“This all singing, all dancing extravaganza and is simply unmissable. From the moment the curtain rises you are treated to a non stop feast of glitz and glamour reminiscent of a bygone age. I was blown away with the dancing. The dancing was of total precision. Loved watching the professionalism of St Agnes’ Choral Society. It was an awesome show.”

“This may have been an amateur production, but the effort and care that had gone into every aspect of St Agnes's Sound of Music — right down to the artfully symmetrical sets and the actors' plummy enunciation — made this an inspiring, affecting and energising evening out.”
