Casting Call! - Come From Away

We are excited to announce an open casting call for a key role in our upcoming production of the award-winning musical Come From Away, opening this September at The Lyric Theatre, Belfast.

The company is seeking to authentically cast the role of Kevin J / Ali / Others, a pivotal character in this heartwarming and powerful true story that celebrates kindness, humanity, and connection.

Casting Requirements:

Role: Kevin J / Ali / Others

Black Male Actor

Singing Vocal Range: Baritone / Tenor 2

Accent Ability: Kenyan (Swahili language) / New York City (Brooklyn/Queens) / Newfoundland

Availability: May – September 2025 for rehearsals. Tuesday evenings and Sundays. 

Performance Dates:  4-13th September

The successful applicant must be available for all performance dates.

This role offers a unique opportunity to join an award-winning team of creatives and performers, bringing this inspiring story to life on one of Belfast’s most iconic stages, The Lyric Theatre. The production is directed by Rachel Logan-Fee, with musical direction by Andrew Robinson and choreography by Amy Blackshaw – the same dynamic team behind St Agnes’ critically acclaimed Young Frankenstein.

About the Production

Come From Away tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 airline passengers stranded in Newfoundland in the wake of 9/11, and the small town that welcomed them with open arms. It’s a story of hope, resilience, and the best of humanity.

At this stage, all other roles in the production are closed and will be cast from existing members of the company.
